Jacob + Avery

Some weddings feel quiet and effortless in the most beautiful way.
Jacob and Avery’s day was exactly that — calm, joyful, and filled with the kind of gentle teasing that only two people deeply comfortable with each other can share.

From their artistic engagement session to their golden-lit mountain bridals and garden reception, every part of their celebration felt thoughtful, relaxed, and deeply meaningful.

It was a joy to document.

Engagement Photos at Springville Museum of Art

Their engagement session took place at the Springville Museum of Art, which was actually a first for me — and it immediately became a favorite.

The clean architecture and soft stone tones created the most beautiful editorial backdrop. It allowed Jacob and Avery’s natural connection to take center stage.

While they both have a calm and quiet presence, their humor shows up in quick sarcastic remarks and playful teasing with each other. Those moments created such genuine expressions throughout their session — the kind of connection that feels effortless in photographs.

The elegant setting paired perfectly with their understated chemistry, giving their engagement photos a refined and timeless feel.

Mountain Bridals at Tibble Fork Reservoir

Their bridals took place at Tibble Fork Reservoir, surrounded by towering mountains and pine trees. Just as we arrived, the sun came out from behind the clouds and lit the entire valley with the most beautiful glow — the kind of light photographers quietly hope for all day.

Avery wore a stunning fitted gown with:

  • sheer long sleeves
  • a modern square neckline
  • delicate leaf and floral embroidery throughout the dress

The embroidery echoed beautifully with her bouquet, which featured soft spring tones of pale blues, blush, and light pinks. Against the deep greens of the pine trees and the expansive mountain backdrop, everything felt incredibly cinematic.

Jacob wore a tailored tan suit paired with a soft pink tie — a perfect complement to the wedding palette and the alpine setting.

Payson Temple Sealing

Jacob and Avery were sealed at the beautiful Payson Utah Temple, surrounded by their closest family.

When they exited the temple, a large group of loved ones greeted them with hugs, celebration, and so much excitement. Those temple exit moments always carry such a special energy — a mix of reverence, joy, and the beginning of something entirely new.

Afterward, we spent time capturing family portraits and a few newlywed moments before the evening reception.

A Garden Reception in Holladay, Utah

Their reception took place at Avery’s aunt’s beautiful home in Holladay, Utah, and it felt like stepping into a peaceful private estate.

Guests drove up a quiet, tree-lined road before arriving at a large front gate. Beyond it, a circular driveway wrapped around a pond in front of the stunning red brick home. From there, a pathway through tall trees and lush gardens guided guests around the house to the backyard celebration.

The reception space felt elegant yet relaxed:

  • round white tables placed throughout the garden
  • simple floral arrangements echoing the wedding colors
  • framed photos of the bride and groom decorating the tables
  • a small wooden dance floor set beneath glowing string lights

Along one side of a pool, beautifully arranged food displays added another decorative element to the evening. Everything felt intimate, welcoming, and effortlessly beautiful.

Meaningful Dances With Family

One of the most unique parts of their reception was how they included their guests in the traditional dances.

Instead of keeping the dances limited to just the couple and parents, the DJ invited others to join after a short moment. Mothers and sons, then fathers and daughters, all had a chance to join in the moment and create memories of their own. This immediately created a sense of togetherness for the couple and the people they cared about so deeply.

Soon the dance floor filled with laughter, singing, and celebration.

The Perfect Ending: A Pool Jump

As the night came to a close, Jaco and Avery ended their wedding day in the most unforgettable way.

Surrounded by their friends and bridal party, they all jumped into the pool together — still dressed from the celebration. It was spontaneous, joyful, and completely fitting for the fun energy of the evening. Moments like that perfectly capture what a wedding day is truly about: celebration, connection, and memories that will last a lifetime.

A Joy to Document

Jacob and Avery’s wedding day blended elegance with warmth in the most natural way. From their peaceful mountain bridals to their garden reception filled with laughter, every moment reflected who they are as a couple — calm, thoughtful, playful, and deeply connected.

Photographing days like this is exactly why I love what I do. Because the most meaningful images aren’t just beautiful — they carry presence, personality, and the story of two people beginning their life together.

And those are the moments that last.
